Andre Luiz Brandao

Profile:André Brandão has the Doctor of Science degree at Fluminense Federal University. He received his Master of Science degree at Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) in 2006 and his Bachelor degree in Computer Science at Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) in 2003. Since 2009, he has coordinated the Jecripe Project (www.jecripe.com) whose products are serious games research for people with disabilities. Brandão had coordinated the development of four games for people with special needs: Jecripe and Jecripe 2, for children with Down syndrome in pre-school age; ParaJecripe, a game about adapted sports; and WheelChair Jecripe, a gesture-based game designed with and for wheelchair users. Brandão is also External Researcher of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and worked in the Augmented Vision Department at Kaiserslautern with DAAD financial support. Nowadays, André is an Assistant Professor at the Federal University of ABC, in Sao Paulo State, Brazil. André is the winner of the Falling Walls Lab São Paulo 2015 and he participated in the Falling Walls Lab Berlin. He has experience in digital games development, e-learning, human-computer interaction and computer vision research.
