Energy Engineering


Energy Engineering program capacitates professionals to approach different areas in the Brazilian energy industry, such as, energy sources (renewable and nonrenewable), energy conversion, transportation, supply, and optimization. The engineer will develop solid knowledge in power electronics systems and energy planning, overlooking the use of energy in different sectors of society. The professional will be able to conceive, project and analyze different energy systems, identifying technologies capable of maximizing efficiency and minimizing possible social, economic and environmental damages. It is the task of the energy engineer to evaluate the project, operations and maintenance of energy systems and its impacts in the environment, economy and society, as well as, to propose public and private policies for rational use of energy.
