Materials Engineering


The Materials Engineering program offers a broad range of studies in three classic engineering fields: polymeric, ceramic and metallic materials. Aiming to fulfill the market and scientific demands, the engineer will be capable to dominate knowledge in those materials for specific applications, such as biomaterials and nanomaterials allowing the engineer to work not only in a specific area but in an interdisciplinary perspective. The materials engineer can work with several different techniques, such as, processing, selection, recycling and materials evaluation. Also, they can perform researches, production development, inspection and quality control.
