All students are admitted into one of the four interdisciplinary programs available, the Bachelor in Science and Technology (BC&T), the Bachelor in Sciences and Humanities (BC&H); the Teaching Degree in Science and Humanities (LCH); and finally the Teaching Degree in Natural and Exact Sciences (LCNE).
Students are allowed to choose their courses freely (even from the other interdisciplinary program), and being admitted into a specific program is not a requirement to enroll in courses offered by that program.

How to become an undergraduate student at UFABC
Thank you for your interest to study at UFABC. The yearly admission process for undergraduate programs at UFABC is exclusively through the Unified Selection System (Sistema de Seleção Unificada – Sisu). To be admitted at UFABC you have to:
Step 1 – Enroll to take the High School National Exam (Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio – ENEM). This is an annual exam that can be only taken in Brazil and in Portuguese, so you must know the language to take it.
Step 2 – In possession of the results of ENEM, you have to enroll in the Unified Selection System (Sistema de Seleção Unificada – Sisu). In this system, you can chose up to two programs from a varied list from most of Brazilian public Universities, among them UFABC.
Step 3 – There are only four entry programs at UFABC: the Bachelor in Science and Technology (BC&T); the Bachelor in Sciences and Humanities (BC&H); the Teaching Degree in Science and Humanities (LCH); and finally the Teaching Degree in Natural and Exact Sciences (LCNE). They are called Interdisciplinary Bachelors and Teaching Degrees that allow students to keep their studies in follow-up programs that are: (BCT) Aerospace Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Engineering Management, Environmental and Urban Engineering, Information Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation and Robotics Engineering, Materials Engineering; Bachelors in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Neuroscience, and Physics. For LCNE entrance, the follow-up programs are: Teaching Degrees in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics. For BCH entrance, the follow-up programs are: Bachelor in Economics, Bachelor in International Relations, Bachelor in Philosophy, Bachelor in Public Policy, Bachelor in Territorial Planning, and Teaching Degree in Philosophy. For LCH entrance, the follow-up program is: Teaching Degree in Philosophy. Check the full description of the programs. In step 3 you should chose to which program (out of the 4 options), period of the day (full time or evenings), campus (Santo André or São Bernardo), and quota you would like to apply to. In Sisu system you will see that there are vacancies available for each of them. It is important to read the public call from UFABC in which you will find the rules to fill in the vacancies.
Step 4 – Sisu will then use ENEM grades to select the candidates for each University vacancy. If you are selected, you must come to UFABC when requested in order to enroll as a student and bring all the documents required in the call.
We would like to point out that UFABC is a federal public university, therefor it is totally subsidized by taxpayers money. That means that students do not pay any tuition and there is no fee for enrollment. We wish you all the luck in this process.
Socioeconomic Financial Aid
After being admitted to one of UFABC’s program students are entitled to apply to Socioeconomic Aids.
The Socioeconomic Aid Program aims to provide conditions for students in situation of social and economic vulnerability enrolled in undergraduate program at UFABC to manage to expand their condition to keep studying at the institution. More information is available in Portuguese at PROAP webpage.
