Graduated in Biological Sciences from the State University of Campinas (1987), Master of Ecology and Natural Resources at the Federal University of São Carlos (1991) and PhD in Genetics and Evolution at the Federal University of São Carlos (1997). It is currently reviewer INEP and Professor Associate IV of the Federal University of ABC. He served for 16 years as a professor at the Federal University of Mato Grosso, campus of Cuiabá, MT, working with cytogenetic and molecular genetics of fishes in the Upper Paraguay River Basin. It is responsible for the creation of a research group in Cytogenetics Animal. Continues with research link with UFMT through this research group. It has experience in the areas of cytogenetics fish, Pantanal, the Paraguay River basin, systematics and evolution of fish, fish genetics and cytogenetics animals.
