English version
I started my research activities in physical phenomena related to sensor technology (GMR and GMI) as an undergrad student. During my masters I studied thin films for digital magnetic recording, processing and characterizing my samples with many techniques such as, sputtering, magnetometry, spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. Afterwards, I did my PhD in magneto-optical near-field microscopy studying lithographed samples and advancing in the field of instrumentation. During that time I had the privilege of a pre-doc stay at Laboratoire de Physique des Solides at Université Paris Sud 11 (France) under the Marie-Curie Fellowships program. In 2005 I went for a 3 year postdoc at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (USA) studying mechanical stress in indented Si wafers by confocal Raman microscopy. After a short period in the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory, in 2009 I became a professor at Universidade Federal do ABC, a university that fosters interdisciplinary approach to science and education. Since then I have been dedicated to scientific projects inspired by curiosity and interdisciplinarity. By applying a phenomenological approach to physical phenomena I proposed a model connecting entropy and gravity [1] (not related to thermodynamics of horizons), identified a new thermodynamic cycle (Buoyancy Organic Rankine Cycle) [2], developed a new kind of magnetic device called Lenz lenses [3], introduced the use of synthetic jets for jet propulsion systems by using thermoacoustic engines.
