Peter Claessens
Área: Organização perceptual; Dinâmica atencional; Percepção de brilho; Percepção como inferência Bayesiana; Metodologia e análise psicofísica.
Possui Mestrado em Psicologia e Doutorado em Ciências Psicológicas, com pesquisa realizada no Laboratório de Psicologia Experimental do Instituto de Psicologia da Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (1998 e 2005) [Universidade de Leuven, Bélgica]. Fez pós-doutorado no Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas (ICB) da Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Trabalha atualmente como professor adjunto no Centro de Matemática, Computação e Cognição (CMCC) na Universidade Federal do ABC (UFABC), onde faz parte do Núcleo de Cognição e Sistemas Complexos (NCSC). Possui experiência na área de psicofísica, com ênfase em visão, particularmente agrupamento e atenção, e modelagem quantitativa de fenômenos perceptuais.

Obtained his Master's degree in Psychology, with a research internship at the University of Viriginia, and his Doctoral degree in Psychological Sciences, with research at the Laboratory for Experimental Psychology at the Catholic University of Leuven, Leuven, Belgium. Has postdoctoral training at the Instutite for Biomedical Sciences (ICB) at the University of São Paulo (USP). Currently appointed as associate professor at the Centre of Mathematics, Computation and Cognition (CMCC) at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC), where he participated in the Interdisciplinary Unit of Applied Cognition (NINA), and currently participates in the DATAS Unit. Performs teaching and supervision activities in the Bachelor's program in Neuroscience, of which he was coordinatorm, the Bachelor's program in Science and Technology (BC&T), and in the Postgraduate Programs in Neuroscience and Cognition. Was coordinator of the university's Committee for Ethics in research (CEP) with human participants. Is currently coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Neuroscience and Cognition. Has experience in the field of psychophysics, with emphasis on vision, and quantitative modeling of perceptual and cognitive phenomena, such as causal inference. Has projects with analysis of eye movement data and psychophysiology.
