Sydney Ferreira Santos

Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from Federal University of Pará (1997), M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Federal University of São Carlos (2000 and 2004, respectively). Post-doctoral research fellow at the Institute of Chemistry of São Carlos (University of São Paulo) and the Hydrogen Research Institute (University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières). Visiting professor at the Hydrogen Research Institute of the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivieres (2014-2015) and ICMCB at the University of Bordeaux (2023). He is currently associate professor IV at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC) engaged in the undergraduate programs of Materials Engineering and Bachelor in Science and Technology. He is also engaged in the graduate programs of Materials Science and Engineering and Nanosciences and Advanced Materials at UFABC. From 2020 to 2020, he was coordinator of the Graduate Program in Materials Science and Engineering. Main research interests are: physical metallurgy, phase transformations in metals and alloys, transmission electron microscopy, hydrogen storage, metal hydrides, characterization of electrocatalysts, nanocomposites, MXenes.
